FREP's
Filing Flight Reports Correct Procedure.
Ok....now
there's a right way and a wrong way to file your FREP's. If you
have read the GOM (General Operating Manual) and have been filing
your FREP's and having them approved, you won't need to read this
tutorial. If however your FREP's have been returning to you..........rejected,
then this may just go some way to solving the reasons for this.
Ok there are 3 important area's we as pilots need to complete
when submitting our reports. The main details of the flight are
handled by Pegasus and appear completed on the FREP once opened.
The remaining information we must complete ourselves before filing
the FREP.
Departure
/ Arrival section, all the information is entered including the
Dep. and Arv. runway details, the SID/STAR we used, the Block
Time (time recorded when you leave the gate
and ends when you arrive at the gate at your destination) and
the Flight time (starts at takeoff / ends
at touchdown).
Metar
(Weather conditions) information required for both departure and
arrival. This information is available from any online weather
software you may be using such as FSMeteo, SERVINFO, or if online
with Vatsim then Squawkbox etc. If the flight is being flown off-line
or not with Vatsim for instance, then this information is available
from Pegasus by clicking on the flight date in your logbook. This
will provide you with all the metar info required at both your
departure and arrival airports.
Navigation
Route, this is the information (flightplan data) that you have
used to complete this flight. An example would be.. EGKK-UT420-NITAR-CTL-UB4-RLP-UL613-LUL-UT40-TORPA-GRE-VIC-UL613-AKADO-PUL-UL611-YNN-VARDI-R19-GERMI-ATH-UL607-ALIKI-SIT-G400-LABNA-BLT-HECA
this is the complete route we would enter. All the information
is here including the Airways, VOR's, NDB's etc. we have used.
Another example route would be SFD UA56
DRAKE UA34 SITET UN859 QUV UW7 LORES LEPA etc......
This
must be filed for all flights flown on or off-line. Just typing
direct, GPS, File etc. is not acceptable. The data must contain
the route flown including VOR's, NDB's, Airways etc. This information
can be cut and pasted from most Navigation s/w (FSNavigator,
NAV3.1, FSBuild.....) or the FS2k2 flightplanner for instance.
( a small tip here: cut & paste all important
details to a notepad document as you create the flightplan etc.
for use later on your FREP)
Other than the Navigation Route we also must complete the altitude
(Flight Level) flown in the format
FL350 for 35,000ft, an alternate airport if available, and whether
the flight was flown while off or online. (Online
Flights are to be filed only when flown using either the Vatsim/IVAO
networks) The last section is for pilot comments on the
flight and should be filled in if you need too.....but always
if you are very late or early departing or arriving due to ATC
or a local situation.
Ok........that
about covers all the requirements of the ESA FREP's........any
Q's?...........yes?......then drop me a note here.:-)
Nearly
forgot...........the wrong way to file?......shouldn't be a problem
now eh?
